The testnet starts on June 3rd at 9 AM UTC. You'll be able to run nodes after the testnet starts.
Submit your whitelist wallet address:
WatchDog node runners: Submit your address in the channel on Discord.
Edge node runners: Submit your address in the channel on Discord.
Follow the node deployment instructions:
WatchDog node runners: Please refer to the .
Edge node runners: Please refer to the .
Check your SXP: After successful deployment, check your SXP with the bot in the SendingMe application. See the guide.
For any questions: Refer to our for more information. If you have any issues running nodes, please check the troubleshooting section at the end of the tutorial.
It starts on June 3rd at 9 AM UTC and ends on July 31st at 9 AM UTC.
Mainnet is scheduled for Q4 2024 to Q1 2025.
Edge Node: Earn 100 SXP for relaying 1GB of messages.
WatchDog Nodes: Earn 4 SXP for every 1,000 checks of Edge nodes in the network.
No, they are different. SendingNetwork Experience Points (SXP) are for mining rewards, while SendingMe points are rewards for social interactions in the application.
Several factors could reduce the preference for nodes by messaging clients, resulting in decreased traffic:
Node response times exceeding 200 milliseconds.
Having fewer than two CPU cores.
Less than 4 GB of available memory.
CPU and memory usage surpassing 85%.
Using the recommended system requirements and maintaining good network latency and load conditions will help.
There's NO need to import your private key or mnemonic phrase to run the node and earn rewards.
Yes, you can run two nodes with one wallet address as long as it's whitelisted for both nodes.
We suggest running nodes on separate machines. Both Edge nodes and WatchDog nodes require a 4-core CPU and 8 GB of RAM.
Only one active node is allowed at a time per wallet address. If you run a second node in a new location while the original one is still active, you'll be prompted with "Only one Edge/WatchDog node can be run per wallet address." If you want to run a new one in another location, such as a different directory or machine, please follow these steps:
Stop the current node according to the stop instructions in the tutorial.
Wait for 10 minutes.
Start the new node in the desired location.
You will notice a new node ID in the bot chat, and points will be accrued with this new ID. Previous points will remain valid under the original node ID.
You can check your SXP with our bot in the SendingMe application. Connect with your whitelisted wallet address that is used to deploy the node. Please refer to for more details.
Edge node can be deployed on Linux. For detailed system requirements, see the the section in the Edge Node Deployment Tutorial.
Edge node can be deployed on Linux, MacOS and Windows. For detailed system requirements, see the the section in the Edge Node Deployment Tutorial.
Edge nodes can only be deployed on Linux. However, you can set up a VPS and connect from your PC. You may refer to our for setting up a remote machine.
We support deploying the WatchDog node on Linux, macOS, and Windows. However, Linux is recommended. Please note that the Windows and macOS deployments are still in beta and may encounter issues. WatchDog nodes function like ordinary messaging clients that send and receive messages, so they do not require a public IP address like Edge nodes do. While they can be run on a laptop or PC, we recommend setting them up on a VPS for better stability. You may refer to our for setting up a remote machine.
